Imagine that the old Bulgarian ethnic symbols are magic keys to enter a reality in which everything is clearer, cleaner and originally ordered. In the picture with the idea of portals, complete elements of embroidery from the Sofia region expressing the sun, stylized birds are used , floral motifs, symbols of beginning, development and cosmic order. In the center is depicted a symbol often used in Sofia embroidery – the swastika. The main meaning of the swastika is rotation, which is the cause of exchange, movement and development. The work is inspired by the work described in the books of Dr. Yulia Boeva, presenting the connection between archeology and the symbols in embroidery as part of the cultural memory of Bulgaria!
